Purchasing Purpose Statement

Perform daily purchasing and system tasks that will serve our operations team ensuring the right details, prices, and information are clearly communicated to our employees, vendors, and trades.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist Purchasing Team in data comparisons across all vendors and trades.
  • Manage Vendor/Trade information and pricing in our system.
  • Manage the monthly elevation comparison report for the Purchasing Team.
  • Manage the Purchasing Team’s yearly goals for dollars saved
  • Organize and manage communication about Trade Insurance/Licensing.
  • Run data comparisons on all new trades and vendors before contracts are sent.
  • Create, review, and send Vendor/Trade contracts.
  • Setup trade/vendor information in ITK.
  • Assist Purchasing team in training new trades and vendors on the ITK system.
  • Assist Purchasing Team in managing the test period for new vendors.
  • Maintain the trade portion of the Purchasing Holy Grail, importing new pricing monthly.
  • Proficiently use Excel to compare price quotes and offers that are received.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of Windows operating system.
  • Must be able to think analytically, with the use of math, computers, and processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new software and use internal accounting system.
  • Relational: to be successful, you must be able to communicate. effectively and build trust.
  • Self-Starter: ambitious, motivation is key.
  • Inquisitive: always ask questions, you must discover the needs of those you want to serve.
  • Superior organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Detailed: always ensure accuracy of information.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Works in temperature-controlled environment.
  • Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
  • Effective communication skills when dealing with co-workers and trade partners.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Ability to lift 5-10 pounds.

Position Hours and Schedule

  • 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, Monday - Friday)
  • After hours and weekends may be necessary on occasion for trips or to meet deadlines
  • Position is not exempt from overtime
